Our internship programmes offer hands on, real world experience within a collaborative and supportive environment. Based in our Technology Centre in Carlow, interns work on meaningful projects that support our global digital strategy while developing practical skills, confidence, and professional connections.
IT Internship Programme
A paid, seven month placement beginning in September, designed to give students deep, practical experience within our technology organisation.
Interns are embedded in agile delivery teams and contribute directly to real systems, products, and customer solutions while receiving mentoring, training, and exposure to a wide range of technology roles.
What You’ll Get:

More than 50% of interns go on to secure full‑time roles, making this programme a key pathway to a technology career at Unum Ireland.
Summer Internship Taster – Women in Technology
A short, immersive programme designed to give second year university students an early introduction to careers in technology.
What You’ll Get:
- 6 days over two weeks, fully on‑site in the Unum Carlow office
- Early – Mid June
- Open to 2nd‑year students studying relevant technology disciplines
- Provides insight into real teams, roles, and career paths
